Zusammenfassung:A plurality of filters are used which each contain an oxygen-releasing and carbon-dioxide-binding and a moisture-binding chemical substance. Control of the moisture load of the oxygen-releasing substance is achieved by a moisture-binding agent at one end of the filter. The room air, depending on its moisture, is passed in one or other direction through the filter. The working lives of the individual filters overlap by exchanging the filters at staggered intervals. Preferably, the filter change is carried out depending on the carbon dioxide content of the room air leaving the filter. Part of the filter is exchanged in an unexhausted state after beginning operations and is replaced at the end of the overall working life up to complete exhaustion. The method makes possible simple control of the moisture load of the oxygen-releasing substance and thus the oxygen release, complete use of the total filter capacity during the entire working life and utilisation of each filter up to its exhaustion without losses in regeneration quality.
