Zusammenfassung: | In the oxidation of propylene or isobutylene, with molecular oxygen in a tube-shaped fixed-bed reactor with the formation of a mixture of acrolein and acrylic acid, or methacrolein and methacrylic acid, respectively, the reaction temperature can be controlled in an excellent manner when an oxidation catalyst system is used in which the catalysts have two forms which differ physically. The catalyst which is the first to be brought into contact with the reactants is composed of an essentially inert carrier material with a coating of catalytic material. The second catalyst, which is then brought into contact with the reactants, is essentially composed of catalytic material only. The good temperature control allows the conversion rate to be increased substantially. |
