Zusammenfassung:	New therapeutic compsn. comprises a water-sol. water-absorbing swelling agent which is an aluminium and/or ferric salt of carboxymethyl cellulose, alginic acid, xanthan gum or pectin, also a buffering agent maintaing a pH of 7 in the aq. suspension of the intestinal regulating agent. The compsn is an intestinal regulator which stimulates peristalsis and provides a bulky stool, is readily stored and may be used to treat constipation and colonic disorders. The compsn. is more readily administered orally than carboxymethyl-cellulose which often swells too rapidly before ingestion is possible.
