Zusammenfassung: | The process of making plates for lead/acid cells, also for alkali cells, consists of placing a mixture of the active material, a plastics material and a conductive material between two silicon rubber layers inside a steel mould then applying pressure to the contents of the mould while heat is applied, so as to sinter the contents to a solid mass. Thus when polyethylene is used for the plastics material, a temperature of between 115 and 190 deg.C is applied for between 5 and 30 minutes, while the pressure is applied to both sides of the mould. |
