Zusammenfassung:The standby power system for the circulation pump (2) of a central heating system (3, 4, 5) consists of a mains failure relay (10, 11, 12), a charger unit (9), a 12v battery (7) and a DC to AC invertor (13). Normally, the pump is driven by the mains and the battery receives a controlled charge. If the mains fails, then the relay switches the battery so that it is connected to the invertor and its output of 230v is connected to the pump motor. This system is intended for use in central heating systems where the pump stoppage causes the gas heating supply to be switched off, which is inconvenient during power failures.
