Zusammenfassung: | 1516349 Lubricating bearings UNITED TECHNOLOGIES CORP 1 Oct 1975 [1 Oct 1974] 40095/75 Heading F2A [Also in Divisions F1 and B7] A driven rotor, e.g. a propeller or ducted fan, having a hub 40 containing bearings 78, 80, 82, 84 and pitch change mechanism 54 for blades 42, includes a lubrication system consisting of a nozzle 70 which during rotor operation supplies a continuous spray of oil from sump 90 through annular passage 72 and aperture 74 to fill pocket 76. Overflow from the latter returns via a restricted path 88 to the sump. A second pocket is defined by housing wall 94 and annular flange 96 and a third pocket by the hub wall and blade roots, all the pockets intercommunicating. Thus when the rotor stops rotating oil will gravitate to the bottom of the hub to a level determined by the position of the drain path 88 and any loss of oil from the second and third pockets will be made up by oil from the pocket 76 prior to further rotation. |
