Zusammenfassung: | Device for the evaporative cooling of smelting plant, consisting of a closed system with natural circulation of cooling water and radiators provided with several rows of vertical water-pipes (I) connected to an inlet manifold fed from a separator; pipes (I) are also connected to an outlet manifold feeding the mixt. of steam and water to the separator, and a mains water cooling system provided with a feed pipe and a drain is also included. The inlets and outlets of pipes (I) can be independently connected via valves to the mains feed pipe and drain respectively so that either the natural cooling system or mains water can be used. The valves employed are pref. three-way valves. Used in steelworks, e.g. for cooling blast furnaces or the valves used in the hot blast system for such furnaces. |
