Zusammenfassung:A double-acting probe is inserted in the left ventricle so as to suck in through a hole the blood in this ventricle and re-inject it into the aorta, and a pulsating circulation system connected to the probe has a reservoir connected to the probe to receive the blood from the latter, and an artificial ventricle formed by a suction and pressure pump delivering blood from the reservoir to the probe. The diaphragm type blood circulation pump (3) is hydraulically coupled (2) to an auxiliary pump (1) also of the diaphragm type. The latter is driven by a cam (19), in turn driven by a variable-speed electric motor. The cam profile reproduces the physiological curve of the variation in arterial pressure for a complete cardiac cycle.
