Evaporating cooling system - for steelworks engineering parts, has individual steam separator for each cooler gp

An evaporative cooling system for steelworks parts, such as the cooling plates in the lining of blast furnaces, has a separate steam separator for each group of cooling plates which are arranged in a series and parallel connection of say 16. This steam separator is joined to the pipe for the discharge of the steam/water mixt. The water end of the steam separator communicates with the water reservoir. A common pipe links up all steam outlets of all individual steam separators. This system requires less metal than large-water-filled separator tanks. The system requires only natural circulation and the generation of water hammer is eliminated.
