Zusammenfassung: | 1481253 Gas leak detector PRIMUSSIEVERT AB 23 May 1975 [31 May 1974] 22945/75 Heading G1S Gas from a supply 16, Fig. 1, passes through a leak detector 1 and plumbing (not shown) to consumption appliances 13 via a connection 15 and a pipe 18 leading into a windowed check sleeve 19 which in the preferred embodiment is pivotable in the body 1 about connections 15, 26 but is normally held vertically against a stop 30, Fig. 2, by a resilient torque tube 8. The check sleeve holds a quantity of fluid whose level is normally below the exit of pipe 18 as shown, and the gas exits from the container through a bore 25, the tube 8 and connection 27 leading to the plumbing and valves and to the appliances 13. In operation the supply from 16 is maintained but the appliances 13 are shut off and the fluid level in the check sleeve is brought above the opening of the pipe 18, e.g. by tilting the sleeve manually to a horizontal leak testing position, Fig. 3, in which tilted position the tube 8 is twisted and any gas escaping from the plumbing system may be seen as bubbles in the fluid. In a modification the pipe 18 is straight and the lower part of 19 is formed by a resilient hollow ball so that the fluid may be squeezed up into 19 instead of the sleeve having to be tilted. |
