The valve stem of a pressurized dispensing container passes with clearance through an aperture in the end wall 17 and is attached to an operating member 20 having a discharge aperture 27 and a resilient skirt 22 engaging the end of the container. The valve 19 is opened by tilting or pressing the flange 23 so that the valve stem is tilted or moved axially against the resilience of the skirt 22. A modified construction is described in which the container has a flat top. A dip tube may be provided.
