Zusammenfassung:The invention comprises shaped polyamide articles of uniform crystallinity and having crystallite sizes not exceeding 10 m containing 0.0001-0.1% of inert organic or inorganic solid particles having a particle size below 100 m . They may be produced by grinding the inert solid with polyamide granules for at least 15 hours and adding the product to a molten polyamide. Alternatively, the polyamide granules and inert solid may be sintered and the product added to polyamide melt or the inert solid dispersed in a molten polyamide may be added to a second polyamide melt. The addition may be batchwise or continuous. The polyamide first mixed with the inert solid need not be the same as that to which the mixture is added. Polyamides specified for both functions are nylon 6 and nylon 6, 6. Inert solids specified are graphite, molybdenum disulphide, cobalt sulphide, silica, silicates, e.g. talc, organic solids, e.g. polytetrafluoroethylene, powdered lead and magnesium oxide.
