Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for collecting thermal waste energy, whereby thermal energy is generated by a machinery 1-4 working according to the heat pump principle, and where the amount of energy used for maintaining the heat pump process is bound in the process as heat. In order to make the collection of thermal energy more efficient, a refrigerating machinery or other heat pump 1-4 is divided in at least two parts, and at least in some phase of the process, the entire medium amount, or a major part thereof, coming from the medium coolers or similar, being circulated through the coolers/evaporators 1'-4' of said machinery or heat pump, whereby a foregoing cooler/evaporator 1' seen in the direction of flow of the medium, is working at a lower temperature, and the following 2', 3' are working at a higher temperature.
