Zusammenfassung:	Novel substituted dicarboxylic acid bis(3,5-dicarbamoyl- 2,4,6-triiodoanilides) of the general formula in which R denotes a hydrogen atom, a C1-C4-alkyl radical or R , R denotes a straight-chain or branched-chain C2-C8-mono- or polyhydroxyalkyl radical, R denotes a hydrogen atom, a C1-C4-alkyl radical or R , R denotes a hydrogen atom or a C1-C4-alkyl radical and n = 1 or 2. Owing to their good pharmacological and physicochemical properties, the novel non-ionic compounds of the formula I are outstandingly suitable as radio-opaque substances in X-ray contrast agents for use in all application areas of X-ray contrast agents.
