Menetelmä 6-(hydroksialkyyli)-2,3-dialkoksi-5-metyyli-1,4-bentsokinonijohdannaisten valmistamiseksi

The invention relates to a method for production of a compound with the formula (where R1 and R2 each denote a lower alkyl group and n denotes a whole number from 0 to 21), in which method one oxidizes a compound with the formula (where R1 and R2 and n all denote the same as above; X denotes a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyl, alkoxy, acyloxy, silyloxy or methoxymethyloxy group; and Y denotes a hydroxyl, alkoxy, acyloxy, silyloxy or methoxymethyloxy group) with a dialkali metal salt of nitrosodisulphonic acid, which salt has been obtained by electrolytic oxidation of an aqueous solution of a dialkali metal salt of hydroxylaminedisulphonic acid. The method gives the desired compound with a high yield and this is advantageous from the industrial point of view.
