Zusammenfassung:The binder is obtainable from a) 35 to 85 wt. % of fatty acid esters derived from unsaturated fatty acids, b) 5 to 25 wt. % of unsaturated dicarboxylic acid anhydride (preferably maleic anhydride), c) 5 to 25 wt. % of a hydroxy-functional, vinylically or allylically unsaturated compound and d) 0 to 25 wt. % of a glycidyl ester of an unsaturated monocarboxylic acid, whereby the sum of the constituents a), b), c) and d) is equal to 100 wt. %. Some of the unsaturated fatty acids in the fatty acid esters can be replaced by saturated fatty acids. Coating materials produced from this binder are particularly suitable for coating substrates, in particular, natural or artificial, porous or absorbent substrates, e.g. wood.
