The biological reactor(s) or filters (1,1') in series comprise: a sludge-thickening zone (2), at least one device for injecting oxygen-containing gas (3,3'), a filter medium zone (4), a ceiling for retaining the particles (7) and a washing water reserve zone with discharge (9) of the treated effluent.
