Method and device for cutting a threading strip of a paper web

Method and device for cutting off a threading strip R from a paper web W in a paper machine or the like and for spreading this out by so-called inclined drawing Cv. A cutting device 10, which operates by means of a water jet, is arranged in contact with the paper web W, from the nozzle 15 of which device a pointed jet of water is directed at the paper web W. In conjunction with the inclined drawing the device is traversed over the width of the paper web W in order to spread out the threading strip R to its full width. The cutting water required in connection with the inclined drawing and the pressure energy required in order to produce the jet are supplied to the stationary system connected to the water jet cutting device 10 whilst the water jet cutting device 10 is to the side of the paper machine in the traversed position. A machine-aligned cutting C of the threading strip R is performed most advantageously whilst the water jet cutting device 10 is connected to its pressurised water source 13 and the inclined drawing Cv is performed by means of pressure energy that is charged in a pressure accumulator 11, which is stationary and connected to the device 10 whilst the device 10 is detached from its pressurised water source 13.
