Device for removing condensate or spray water from a rotating cylinder (most commonly a drying cylinder in a paper machine). Devices with a corresponding function currently used have the disadvantage that a considerable pressure differential is required in order to remove the water. This has been an inconvenience in the process, in which the device has been used. The disadvantage can be eliminated by the device according to the invention. The operating principle of the invention is based on the fact that downstream of a nozzle 1 of indeterminate form the liquid is distributed to two or more outlet pipes 2, 3 of equal or differing size. In this way the tendency of the liquid to run down or to move outwards due to the effect of centrifugal force is eliminated. The greater the quantity of water removed per unit time, the more advantageous it is to use the device according to the invention.
