Zusammenfassung: | The vanadium-containing slag according to the present invention is characterized in that it contains the following components in % by weight: 16-30% vanadium oxide, 10-24% silicon oxide, 6-14% manganese oxide, 1-12% chromium oxide, 6-14% titanium oxide, 0.3-30% calcium oxide and 2-20% metallic iron, with the remainder consisting of iron oxide, and in that it has the following mineral composition in % by weight: spinnelide 40-70% and glass 2-10%, with pyroxenes and olivines making up the remainder. The spinnelide grains have a regular geometric shape and their size is 25-80 μm. The vanadium-containing slag having the abovementioned composition is produced from a vanadium-containing pig iron which contains the following elements in % by weight: 0.35- 0.9% vanadium, 3.8-4.8% carbon, 0.05-0.35% silicon, 0.12- 0.35% manganese, 0.07-0.38% titanium, 0.03-0.42% chromium, 0.02-0.1% phosphorus, 0.04-0.32% copper, 0.04-0.32% nickel and 0.001-0.12% cobalt, with iron making up the rest. The process according to the present invention for producing the vanadium-containing slag is characterized in that the vanadium-containing pig iron is blown-through with a gaseous oxidizing agent, for example oxygen gas, at a so-called flow intensity of 1.5-3 m3/t per min, with the temperature of the pig iron being 1180-1300 degree C and 1400-1650 degree C at the beginning and in the final phase, respectively, of the blowing- through, with the specific surface value of the upper surface of the molten pig iron varying between 0.13 and 0.3 m2/t. |
