The novel peptides of this invention surprisingly are effective for releasing growth hormone levels in animals by replacing the natural amino acids in positions 1, 2 and 3, as well as derivatizing the N-terminal amino acid residue in human pancreatic islet tumor origin growth hormone-releasing factor.
