Zusammenfassung:	A cold starting method for a steam turbine according to the invention comprises, as corresponding measures, startup of the shaft-driving device and then heating of the rotors and cylinder cavities 2, 3 with steam of the admissible pressure and simultaneous control of the tightness in the exhaust system, whereupon a vacuum is created in condenser 5 and the speed of the shaft unit 1 is raised to nominal. In order for the cold starting time to be as short as possible, in which both fuel is saved and a surplus can be produced, the steam necessary for heating is fed from an external source with a gauge pressure determined by the strength value of the condenser 5.
