ISOTIURONIUM-SALTER

The invention relates to a process for the preparation of isothiuronium salts with the general formula (I) where R1 is a C1-C6 alkyl, C2-C6 alkenyl, C2-C6 alkynyl, C3-C6 cycloalkyl, arylalkyl or aryl group, these groups being optionally substituted with one or more hydroxyl groups, mercapto groups and/or halogen atoms, R2 is hydrogen, a C1-C6 alkyl, C2-C6 alkenyl, C2-C6 alkynyl or C3-C6 cycloalkyl group, and X represents an organic or inorganic anion. The compounds according to the invention can be prepared by reacting a compound with formula II II with an alkylating agent capable of introducing an R1 group. Compounds with the general formula I exhibit antitumour and immuno-stimulating activities and are useful in therapy.
