Zusammenfassung: | 1281203 Refining iron alloys URALSKY NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT CHERNYKH METALLOV 11 Aug 1969 [13 Aug 1968] 40018/69 Heading C7D In the refining of molten iron alloys in a converter by introducing oxidizing and cooling additions, blowing through the molten alloy a free oxygen containing gas and removing the metallic product, the slag formed is retained in the converter for use in treatment of further alloy in subsequent heats. A portion of the metallic product may be retained with the slag. The oxidizing and cooling additions may be scale, iron ore and vanadium containing concentrates. The solid oxidizing additions may comprise 5-8% by weight of the iron present. In second and subsequent heat 10-30% less additions are preferably added. The solid additions may be added in 2 steps; 30-60% prior to or at the beginning of the blowing and the remainder during the blowing. The quantity of oxygen should preferably be 20-25m3/ ton of iron, and steam may be added with the oxygen at the rate of 2kg/m3. The oxygen may be fed through the nozzle of a tuyere preferably striking the molten metal surface at 40-89 degrees. To the metallic product prior to making steel may be added 10-50kg/ton manganese containing materials. The fuel product may be converted to steel by surface blowing with oxygen from a distance of 0.5-3m while adding lime, fluorspar and iron ore. |
