1302494 Cycloalkano-quinoline derivatives BOEHRINGER MANNHEIM GmbH 24 Aug 1971 [4 Sept 1970] 39581/71 Addition to 1210638 Heading C2C Novel cycloalkano-quinoline derivatives of the formula wherein one of the symbols R1 1 and R1 2 is H, while the other one, together with R1 3 forms a C 3-5 aliphatic bridge, and X1is C 1-3 alkyl substituted by halogen, OH, acyloxy, alkoxy, aryloxy, aralkoxy, SH, arylthio, alkylthio, alkylsulphonyl or arylsulphonyl and the pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof are prepared by reaction cycloalkano-quinoline derivatives of the formula wherein Y1is OH or alkoxy with compounds of the formula X1Z,where Z is a reactive radical, such as halogen, if necessary, hydrolysing the resulting esters, and, if desired, a substituent in the group X1is chemically converted by known methods. Pharmaceutical compositions, suitable for enteral or parenteral administration, contain the above novel compounds or salts thereof in admixture with solid or liquid pharmaceutical diluents or carriers. The compounds possess anti-microbial activity.
