Arrangement for more efficient planting of clump plants

A method for efficient mechanical planting of clump plants, in which clumps without plants or with small plants are normally automatically removed from the process before the planting stage. Clumps which are of no use are identified, removed and replaced by better plants from a special store of replacement plants. In an arrangement for applying the method, the clumps of plants are moved in compartments from one stage to another. A photocell is used for identification, and a non-viable plant clump is dropped from the compartment and replaced with a better one from the store which can be in the form of, for example, a tray with linearly arranged compartments for plant clumps or a training cell unit.
