Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to a biosensor for detecting oestrogen in the environment, mainly in aquatic media, based on a bacterial regulation system of the family TetR called EdcR encoded for the gene EGO55.J 3520 (edcR) of the bacterium Caenibius tardaugens NBRC 16725 (formerly Novosphingobium tardaugens). Said biosensor is a cell containing two genetic constructions (a) and (b) comprising, respectively, the nucleotide sequence which encodes the EdcR regulatory protein of the edc gene cluster of O. tardaugens; and the nucleotide sequence of the Operon A or Operon B promoter of the edc gene cluster of C. tardaugens. The invention also contemplates the cell population, the composition and the kit comprising the biosensor, as well as the use thereof in detecting oestrogen.
