The invention discloses an anaerobic digestion device and a method. The invention provides a device and a method for anaerobic digestion of biodegradable organic waste. The device comprises a digester in the form of a closed cylindrical tank (10); a supply device (20) is used for supplying to-be-treated substances in the digester, and the feeding openings (22) are distributed in the first part of the wall of the tank (10); the nozzles of the homogenizing device (30) are distributed at the bottom (12) of the tank (10); a discharge device (40) distributed at a second portion of the wall of the tank (10), radially opposite the first portion, for extracting the digestion material; a removal device (50) located at a third portion of the wall of the tank (10), radially opposite the first portion, located at the lower portion of the tank (10), only for withdrawing the precipitable material; and a recirculation circuit (60) between the discharge device (40) and the supply device (20).
