The invention relates to a toasting device that adapts to the type of bread, which comprises an artificial-vision perception system formed by: a window of insulating glass (2), a wide-angle lens (3), a low-cost camera (4) with a colour sensor, and a uniform lighting system formed by an insulating pane of glass (7) and a lighting system (6). The images obtained by the perception system are processed in a micro controller (5) that can detect a slice of bread and the colour shade thereof, constantly and automatically, ejecting the slice of bread from a toasting chamber (9) when the toasting shade has been achieved, the user setting the toasting shade by means of a toasting shade selection interface (10).
