The invention relates to a laser scanning assembly (1), a corresponding vehicle and a corresponding laser scanning method. The invention obtains a geometric characterisation of the shape of a surface (100) using the principle of triangulation. The assembly comprises: a laser-light emitter (2); diffraction means (4) that transform the laser light into the shape of a flat fan (6); redirecting means (8) that redirect the beam and project same onto the surface (100); a light receiver (10) that captures a scanning area (12) that includes the fan (6); and control means (14) that control all these elements. The receiver (10) comprises processing means for detecting the illuminated points in the captured image. The redirecting means (8) are rotatably mounted about at least one fixed shaft (16). The rotation of the first redirecting means (8) is controlled by the control means (14) in a manner synchronised with the rest of the elements.
