Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a method for the sensitive and specific in vitro differential diagnosis of prostate cancer, which comprises partially purifying prostate-specific antigen in a fluid sample isolated from a subject to subsequently determine the percentage of sialic acid α-2,3 of the prostate-specific antigen and/or the proportion (ratio) of internal fucosylation of the prostate-specific antigen. The invention relates particularly to a highly sensitive and specific method that allows samples from high-risk prostate cancer patients to be distinguished from samples from patients with benign disorders or diseases of the prostate and low- or intermediate-risk prostate cancer patients. The method can also be used for the prognosis of this cancer. The invention also relates to kits for carrying out said diagnosis methods.
