Método para el pronóstico del ictus.La presente invención se refiere a un método para pronosticar la evolución funcional en un paciente de ictus que comprende determinar el polimorfismo Arg72Pro del gen Tp53 en una muestra biológica de dicho paciente, donde la presencia del genotipo Arg/Arg se asocia a mal pronóstico funcional del ictus y la presencia del genotipo Pro/Arg o del genotipo Pro/Pro es indicativo de buen pronóstico funcional de ictus.
