Zusammenfassung:	In the present invention there is described a combination of primers and a method for molecular detection of the different circulating strains of the hepatitis E virus (HEV) in humans and animal reservoirs distributed geographically throughout the world. Amplification of the HEV genome is realised by nested RT-PCRs wherein the primers employed amplify two fragments of the ORF1 (Open Reading Frame) and ORF2 regions of the genome of this virus. Furthermore the present invention includes a kit including the combination of the aforementioned primers and other components.
