Un procedimiento para producir una 2,2,4,6,7-pentametil-3-(4-metilfenil)-2,3-dihidro-1-benzofuran-5-amina ópticamente activa que comprende resolver ópticamente 2,2,4,6,7-pentametil-3-(4-metilfenil)-2,3-dihidro-1-benzofuran-5-amina con un ácido O,O''-di-(p-toluoil)tartárico ópticamente activo. The process enables industrially advantageous production of intermediates for the synthesis of optically active 2,3-dihydrobenzofuran compounds useful as preventive and/or therapeutic drugs for neurodegenerative diseases and so on.
