Procedimiento para el tratamiento de tabaco, en particular de tabaco Burley, que comprende las etapas siguientes: - tratar el tabaco, preferentemente tabaco de hoja, con una salsa (¿casing¿) que preferentemente contiene azúcar, - tratar el tabaco tratado con la salsa térmicamente con vapor saturado, situándose la humedad de tabaco antes del tratamiento con vapor en un intervalo comprendido entre aproximadamente un 15% y aproximadamente un 25% y tras el tratamiento con vapor en un intervalo comprendido entre aproximadamente un 15% y aproximadamente un 25% y situándose la temperatura de tabaco en un intervalo comprendido entre 80ºC y 115ºC.
