LA BOQUILLA CONICA ES ADECUADAMENTE UN CONDUCTO FRUSTOCONICO, RELATIVAMENTE ESTRECHO (28) QUE CONTIENE UN MEDIO DE SOPORTE-SEPARACION (34, 36, 38) QUE ES GENERALMENTE PARALELO A LA DIRECCION DEL FLUJO A TRAVES DEL CONDUCTO (28). AL MENOS UNO DE LOS MEDIOS DE SOPORTE-SEPARADORES (34, 36, 38) SE EXTIENDE DESDE EL EXTREMO DEL CONDUCTO PROXIMO A LA CAMARA DE MEZCLA (16) HASTA EL EXTREMO DEL CONDUCTO (28) PROXIMO A LA CAMARA EN EL INTERIOR DE LA CUAL SE ROCIA LA MEZCLA. EL USO PREFERIDO DE ESTE APARATO ES PARA LA ATOMIZACIONDE FUELOIL CON VAPOR Y EL ROCIADO DE LA MEZCLA ATOMIZADA EN EL INTERIOR DE UNA CAMARA DE COMBUSTION EN LA QUE SE PONE EN CONTACTO CON EL AIRE DE COMBUSTION. LA CANTIDAD DE NOX DE LOS GASES DE ESCAPE SE REDUCE Y SE LIMITA MEDIANTE EL USO DE ESTA CONFIGURACION CREANDO UNA DISTRIBUCION ALTERNATIVA DE ESPACIO RICO EN COMBUSTIBLE Y ESPACIO RICO EN AIRE, Y PERMITIENDO QUE LA CANTIDAD DE EXCESO ESTOIQUIOMETRICO DE AIRE SE LIMITE SEVERAMENTE, MIENTRAS QUE SE PROVOCA LA COMBUSTION SUBSTANCIALMENTE COMPLETA DEL FUEL-OIL. A fluid atomizer and spraying means which is made up of: a mixing chamber into which the fluid to be atomized and the atomizing gas are introduced and in which the fluid is admixed with and dispersed in the gas; a generally conical nozzle means extending from the mixing chamber through which the mixed fluid and gas are forced; and a chamber into which the atomized mixed fluid and gas is sprayed. The conical nozzle means is suitably a relatively narrow frustro-conical passageway which contains support-spacer means which is generally parallel to the direction of flow through the passageway. At least one such support-spacer means is provided which extends from the end of the passageway proximate to the mixing chamber to the end of the passageway proximate to the chamber into which the mixture is sprayed.
