Zusammenfassung:Method for obtaining adult rat microglial cell cultures and their applications. The method comprises: extracting the rat brain, dissociating the hippocampus and the cortex and placing them in Hank's solution in a petri dish, aspirating the contents of the dish and placing them in culture flasks in a suitable medium where 37 degree C is maintained in a saturated atmosphere of CO2 with a moisture content of 5% for 7-14 days, isolating the microglia in order to recover the cells by centrifuging and treating them with DMEM/F-12 medium in order to obtain the rat microglial cell cultures. These cultures have application for the diagnosis and prophylaxis of Alzheimer's disease. Método de obtención de cultivos de células microgliales de rata adulta y sus aplicaciones. El método comprende: extraer el cerebro de la rata; disociar el hipocampo y la corteza y ponerlos en solución de Hank''s en una placa petri; aspirar el contenido de la placa y ponerlo en frascos de cultivo en un medio adecuado donde se mantiene a 37ºC en atmósfera saturada de humedad con 5% de CO sub,2 durante 7-14 días; aislar la microglía para recuperar las células por centrifugación y tratarlas con medio DMEM/F-12 para obtener los cultivos de células microgliales de rata. Dichos cultivos tienen aplicación para el diagnóstico y profilaxis de la enfermedad de Alzheimer.
