CODEC VIDEO (01), PARTICULARMENTE PARA TERMINAL VISIOFONICO DE RED DIGITAL CON INTEGRACION DE SERVICIOS, PREVISTO PARA RECIBIR, POR UNA PARTE, SEÑALES DE IMAGEN DE UNA CAMARA DE TELEVISION (2) CON EL FINA DE EMITIRLAS, TRAS LA COMPRESION Y CODIFICACION , HACIA UNA UNIDAD DE DECODIFICACION DE VIDEO DISTANTE, MEDIANTE UNA LINEA DE TRANSMISION DIGITAL (L) Y POR OTRA PARTE, SEÑALES DE IMAGEN, SIMILARMENTE TRATADAS, A TRAVES DE ESTA LINEA, CON EL FIN DE DESCOMPRIMIRLAS Y DECODIFICAR PARA UN RECEPTOR DE PANTALLA DE TELEVISION (4'') LOCALMENTE CONECTADO A ESTE. EL CODEC COMPRENDE UNA UNIDA DE TRATAMIENTO (054), DE TIPO CIRCUITO INTEGRADO, QUE ASEGURA EN CONEXION CON UN PLANO DE MEMORIA EXTERNO UNICO (055), TANTO LA COMPRESION Y LA CODIFICACION DE LOS DATOS A EMITIR COMO LA DESCOMPRESION Y LA DECODIFICACION DE LOS DATOS RECIBIDOS, CON LA AYUDA DE ELEMENTOS OPERATIVOS TEMPORALMENTE COMPARTIDOS PARA LA PUESTA EN APLICACION DE LOS PROCESOS CONOCIDOS, EN LA EMISION Y EN LA RECEPCION. Video codec (01), especially for an integrated services digital network videophone terminal, provided in order to receive, on the one hand, picture signals from a television camera (2) so as to transmit them, after compression and coding, to a remote video decoding unit by way of a digital transmission line (L) and, on the other hand, picture signals, similarly processed, via this line, so as to expand and decode them for a receiver with television screen (4') linked locally thereto. The codec includes a processing unit (054), of integrated circuit type, ensuring, in tandem with a single external memory plane (055), both the compression and coding of the data to be transmitted and the expanding and decoding of the data received, with the aid of time-sharing operational elements for applying known processes, at the transmitting and receiving ends.
