Zusammenfassung:Protein Euserratin 1 from the plant Euphorbia serrata L., process for obtaining it and its use. Euserratin 1 has the following amino acid composition Cys- 0.8, Asp-32.6, Thr-22.2, Ser-17.4, Glu-24.2, Pro-10.8, Gly-13.1, Ala-15.2, Val-24.7, Met-3.4, Ile-17.8, Leu- 38.7, Tyr-8.7, Phe-11.6, Lys-20.5, His-5.4, Arg-9.2. The process comprises (a) extracting a lyophilisate of Euphorbia serrata L., (b) filtering the liquid extract through a chromatographic bed, (c) subjecting the extracted fluid to ion exchange chromatography, (d) eluting the column with a solution of NaCl and NaH2PO4, (e) dialysing the eluted protein and subjecting it to ion exchange chromatography, (f) purifying the Euserratin 1 by molecular exclusion and ion exchange chromatography. Euserratin 1 is used as a ribonucleic acid inactivator and an inhibitor of protein synthesis. LA EUSERRATINA 1 SE UTILIZA COMO INACTIVADOR DEL ACIDO RIBONUCLEICO E INHIBIDOR DE LA SINTESIS DE PROTEINAS.
