Data-transmission equipment. The data-transmission equipment is a card of the ND system, which incorporates the following elements: - Modulator/demodulator, in accordance with the V22 and V22 bis recommendations of the CCITT, which allows duplex data transmission over a dedicated 2- or 4-wire line. - Control Unit for Switched Telephone Network (STN) which allows direct connection to the STN, of the modem, and of the associated telephone, without the necessity for an optional SNCU or V25 bis unit. - Line Switching Unit which allows manual or automatic switching from a point-to-point, 2-wire line to a spare STN line as well as manual or automatic return to the point-to-point line.
