Zusammenfassung:Peptides or proteins which belong to a melanoma-associated antigen are described. These are prepared in large amounts using recombinant DNA techniques and/or chemical synthetic methods. The peptides or proteins can be used as immunogens in vaccine formulations which elicit an immune response able selectively to destroy melanoma cells in a vaccinated individual. When the peptides or proteins are expressed by a recombinant virus, it is possible to prepare vaccine formulations based on inactivated viruses or based on live viruses. UN METODO PARA PRODUCIR PEPTIDOS ANTIGENICOS PARA VACUNAS RELACIONADOS CON EL ANTIGENO P97 ASOCIADO A MELANOMA, QUE CONTIENE UNA SECUENCIA DE AMINOACIDOS O CUALQUIER PORCION ANTIGENICA DE LA MISMA, CUYO METODO CONSISTE EN (I) COMBINAR UN GRUPO AMINO FIJADO AL CARBONO ALFA DE UN PRIMER AMINOACIDO; (II) ELIMINAR EL GRUPO PROTECTOR UNIDO AL GRUPO AMINO FIJADO AL CARBONO ALFA DEL AMINOACIDO TGERMINAL; (III) COMBINAR EL GRUPO AMINO DEL AMINOACIDO TERMINAL LIBERADO EN LA ETAPA (II) CON UN GRUPO CARBOXILO FIJADO AL CARBONO ALFA DE UN AMINOACIDO; Y (IV) REPETIR LAS ETAPAS (II) Y (III) HASTA QUE SE CONSIGUE UNA CADENA PEPTIDICA DE LA LONGITUD DESEADA.
