Zusammenfassung: | A process for removing sulfur dioxide from flue gas is disclosed. After passing through a precipitator to remove particulate material, the flue gas is conducted continuously through a fixed bed solid-gas contacting device containing activated carbon or natural zeolite. The bed is regenerated continuously, thereby producing sulfuric acid which may be mixed with ground phosphate rock to produce normal superphosphate, or other by-products.
