Zusammenfassung:	According to embodiments of the present invention, a battery management apparatus, located in a battery system that allows for the addition of one or more new batteries, may include at least one processor; anda memory configured to store at least one instruction executed by the at least one processor.Here, the at least one instruction may include an instruction to, upon the battery system switching to a mode for adding a new battery, determine a target state of charge (SOC) which is defined based on the state of health (SOH) of at least one pre-installed battery and the initial SOC of the new battery; an instruction to control charging and discharging of the pre-installed battery so that the SOC of the at least one pre-installed battery becomes the target SOC; and an instruction to terminate the control of charging and discharging when the SOC of the at least one pre-installed battery reaches the target SOC, for adding the new battery into the battery system.
