METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MONITORING THE FILLING LEVEL OF A MEDIUM IN A CONTAINER

The invention relates to a method for determining and/or monitoring at least one process variable of a medium (3) in a container (2) having at least one measuring probe (1), which measuring probe (1) has at least two electrodes (4,5), comprising the following method steps: - In a first operating mode (a): applying a first excitation signal (A1) to a first electrode (4) of the measuring probe (1), wherein a second electrode (5) of the measuring probe (1) is used as a receiving electrode, and wherein a first reception signal is received by the measuring probe (1), - In a second operating mode (b): applying a second excitation signal (A2) to the first electrode (4) of the measuring probe (1), wherein the second electrode (5) of the measuring probe (1) is used as a ground electrode, and wherein a second reception signal is received by the measuring probe, and - determining the at least one process variable based on the first (E1) and/or second reception signal (E2). The present invention also relates to a device (V) which is designed for carrying out a method according to the invention.
