Zusammenfassung:	Provided is a control method for a home appliance (100) comprising a motor (120) driven by a driving current, the method comprising the steps of: receiving a stop signal for stopping the motor (120), performing, on the basis of receiving the stop signal, open brake control for stopping the supply of driving current to the motor (120), estimating, on the basis of the motor phase current of the motor when the open brake control was initiated, the initial motor speed of the motor when the open brake control was initiated, determining, on the basis of the estimated initial motor speed, the initiation time of short break control for applying a torque in the reverse direction to the rotation direction of the motor, and performing the short brake control at the determined short break control initiation time.
