A weighing device provided with a weighing means for weighing the weight of articles, and an output means for outputting article purchase information including a purchase weight value based on the measurement value obtained by the weighing means, wherein: the output means outputs article purchase information including a positive value as the purchase weight value if the measurement value obtained by the weighing means increases from zero to become a positive value and thereafter decreases from the positive value to zero; and the output means outputs information indicating that all of the weighted articles remain if the measurement value increases from zero and thereafter remains a value other than zero without decreasing, and the measurement value does not change from said value other than zero for a prescribed period of time.
