Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a sensor unit (100) for measuring weak magnetic fields without shielding, comprising: two magnetometers (300, 400a, 400b) which are arranged at a fixed distance from one another, wherein each magnetometer has a sensor medium (101, 102, 304) and is configured to detect a magnetic field strength at a measurement location by reading a spin resonance that is dependent on the magnetic field strength in the sensor medium, wherein the sensor unit also has at least one excitation light source (120) for radiating light (124) into the sensor media (101, 102) of the magnetometers, wherein the sensor unit also has at least one signal processing unit (406) for determining a magnetic field gradient (100, 200, 300, 400) as the difference between the output signals from the two magnetometers.
