Zusammenfassung:An improved process for recovering metals from spent supported catalysts, including spent supported hydroprocessing catalysts. The method and related processes including the method can be used to recover spent supported catalyst metals used in the petroleum and chemical processing industries. The processes generally involve a combination of pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical processes and include forming a calcined potassium carbonate from a spent supported catalyst containing one or more Group VIIB/Group VIB/Group VB metal compounds in combination with potassium carbonate, and extracting and recovering a soluble Group VIB metal and a soluble Group VB metal compound from the calcined potassium carbonate.
