ELECTROLYTIC CELL FOR THE PRODUCTION OF H2

An electrolytic cell (1) for the electrolysis of a water solution comprising two half-elements (2, 3) each of which comprises a respective electrode comprising a metal sheet (10) connected to a voltage generator and housed in an electrolysis chamber (C) defined between the two half-elements (2, 3), and means (4) for the continuous recirculation of the water solution inside the electrolysis chamber (C). In each of the metal sheets (10) there are obtained (i) a plurality of electrolysis openings (11) having side walls defining sole active electrolysis surfaces and designed to allow a water solution to flow from a front surface (10a) to a rear surface (10b) of the metal sheet (10) and (ii) a plurality of vertical slits (12) for a water solution to flow from the rear surface (10b) to the front surface (10a) of the metal sheet (10). Each of the electrodes comprises a hydraulic resistance structure designed to realize a pressure loss ranging from 1.5 Pa to 10 Pa in the passage of a water solution from the front surface (10a) to the rear surface (10b) of the metal sheet (10).
