Zusammenfassung:An object of the present invention is to make it possible to continuously and automatically measure a solidification position of a cast-piece by preventing damage and burning of an electromagnetic ultrasonic sensor due to a decrease in lift-off caused by a fluctuation in the thickness of the cast-piece, and preventing a decrease in sensitivity of the electromagnetic ultrasonic sensor due to an increase in lift-off. A solidification position measuring apparatus includes: electromagnetic ultrasonic sensors 7 and 8 installed outside a cast-piece 1; a sensor lifting and lowering unit configured to adjust a gap between the cast-piece 1 and the electromagnetic ultrasonic sensor 7; a gap measuring unit configured to measure the gap between the cast-piece 1 and the electromagnetic ultrasonic sensor 7; a measuring unit configured to estimate a solidification position in the cast-piece 1 from an output of the electromagnetic ultrasonic sensor 7; and a drive control unit configured to drive and control the sensor lifting and lowering unit and the gap measuring unit. The drive control unit is configured to control a position of the electromagnetic ultrasonic sensor 7 by the sensor lifting and lowering unit based on the gap measured by the gap measuring unit.
